Hi, I'm Takuya "TK" Akiyama, a photographer and visual storyteller born and raised in Seattle, Washington, now based in Southern California.

There are countless ways I could introduce myself, but I think the best way to describe who I am is through three words that have shaped both my life and my work: Experience. Efficiency. Enjoyment.

Experience.
My journey started when I was 15 years old with a simple point-and-shoot digital camera. The moment I picked it up, something just clicked. The closest way I can describe that feeling is like Harry Potter holding his first wand at Ollivander's wand shop, it simply felt right. I became fascinated by the way light, emotion, and everyday moments could be preserved in a single frame. More than a decade later, that same curiosity continues to inspire me. Every project, every client, and every experience has helped shape the photographer I am today, and I know I'm still only at the beginning of that journey.

Efficiency.
Photography is about more than creating beautiful images, it's about creating a great experience. I value my clients' time just as much as my own, and I believe professionalism means being organized, dependable, and delivering exceptional work without unnecessary delays. My goal is to exceed expectations by combining creativity with efficiency, ensuring every client receives both quality and a seamless experience from start to finish.

Enjoyment.
At the heart of it all, I genuinely love what I do. Photography has introduced me to incredible people, unforgettable places, and moments I never would have experienced otherwise. Whether I'm photographing a portrait, an automotive feature, or a live event, I want the experience to feel natural, collaborative, and enjoyable. Some of the best photographs come from moments when people simply forget the camera is there.

To me, photography isn't just about documenting what something looked like, it's about preserving how it felt. My goal is to create images that people can return to years later and instantly reconnect with that moment.
